NBN Sinhgad School of Engineering has taken the initiative
Pune - The novel coronavirus pandemic did not dampen the spirit of academicians and researchers of Sinhgad Institutes – a large education conglomerate, headquartered at Pune with over 85 colleges and 26 schools spread across 12 campuses in and around Pune, Lonavala, Kamlapur, Pandharpur, Solapur and Mumbai.
NBN Sinhgad School of Engineering at Ambegaon in Pune, one of the premium Engineering Colleges under Sinhgad Technical Education Society, successfully conducted their two days “Global Conference on Next Generation Information Communication Technologies (GC NGICT- 2020) digitally. This conference was held on 10th-11th April 2020.
For the numerous Colleges of Sinhgad Institutes which throughout the year organizes a number conferences, workshops, seminars at the local as well as the global level, the lockdown did not dampen their spirit as they opted to go the digital way, going ‘online’ to connect with students, academicians, researchers, and progress ahead in their pursuit of academic excellence.
Inthebackgroundof potentialthreatofCOVID 19, instead of postponing the conference NBNSSOE, Vadgaon decided to conduct the Global Conference using online video conferencing.
The Conference invited and therefore received research papers in various areas such as Cloud Computing, Internet of Things, Data Analytics, Image, and video processing, etc. Out of 134 research papers 86 papers presented digitally, using various online conferencing tools. In 7 sessions, researchers presented their work which was further evaluated by eminent faculty and subject experts in the respective domains from renowned engineering colleges.
Keynote address for the conference was delivered by Dr. NilanjanDey, Professor, Techno India College of Technology from Kolkata using video conferencing, wherein he discussed the importance and critical need of ICT in human life.
Dr. Shriram Markande, Principal NBN Sinhgad School of Engineering formally welcomed all the participants and guided the current technology trends. Dr. Amol Dhumane, Head of Computer Department of NBNSSOE gave a brief on the conference stating its purpose and objectives. In conclusion, Dr. Shwetambari Chiwhane gave the Vote of Thanks. Dr. Markande thanked Dr. Shivprasad Patil, Dr. Makarand Jadhav and the entire team of Computer Science, IT and E & TC Department for their special efforts in making the conference successful.
