500-bed isolation ward ready at SKN Hospital

Pune - 500 bed Isolation Ward and ICU for 50 ready at SKN Hospital Pune to combat Covid-19 Considering the ongoing rise in the coronavirus outbreak in Pune City, SKN General Hospital has readied a 500 bed isolation ward to accommodate the patients.

Prof. M.N. Navale, Founder President of Sinhgad Technical Education Society, informed that arrangements have been made on a war footing with suitable training and preparedness of health care team, under renowned doctors of SKN General Hospital to meet the challenge of coronavirus outbreak.

In addition to isolation ward to accommodate and treat 400 to 500 patients, an ICU has also been created for treatment of 50 serious cases of corona virus.

Besides hospital beds, trained personnel, sufficient masks, SKN General Hospital team has sufficient PPE – personal protective equipment and ventilators needed to effectively combat the challenge of coronavirus cases that may be referred to them.

Prof. Navale added that apart from the arrangements at SKN General Hospital, isolation facilities have also been created at Vadgaon campus of Sinhgad Institutes.

contain, prevent and mitigate the effects of this pandemic, Prof. Navale expressed his deep gratitude to them for their huge contribution which the world will remember forever.

“Staying united means each and every individual must strictly abide by the rules, regulations and procedures enumerated by the Government authorities. We must all of us practice good hygiene and prevention measures washing hands with soap, wearing mask compulsorily, maintain social distancing and strictly staying at home during lock down period.

Each one must do what is in their control to stop transmission and spread of the virus in order to save precious lives and overcome this challenging situation at the earliest.”
